Lid correction

This surgery is recommended when upper lid’s wrinkled skin covers the side of upper lid and ‘sacks’ form around the lower lid. Eyes look tired and dull. Surgery is usually done to patients above 35-40 years old, although sometimes it’s done also for the younger people.

Surgery. Upper lid surgery is done by removing surplus skin with ellipse form cut. Fatty hernias are removed. Surgery is usually done in local anesthesia. The post-surgery scar hides under the upper lid’s wrinkle. Lower lid surgery is done in two ways: with external cut by the side of lower lid or by the internal cut in the lid’s conjunctiva. External cut is rarely used, only then the amount of skin surplus is extensive. Usually internal cut is used and no scars are left as cut is made inside the lid. Surgery takes 1-2 hours. Patient is allowed to go home 1-2 hours after the surgery, and threads are taken out 4-5 days after.

Patients are advised to wear sunglasses in the post-surgery period as bruises appear around the eyes. The result of surgery lasts for long term, and repeated surgeries are performed very rarely. However, the durability of the results also highly depends on the lifestyle of the patient.
