Forehead and brow lift

Usually forehead and eyebrow lift is done at the same time as facelift or rhinoplasty. There are two types of eyebrow lifts: classic and endoscopic. During the classic method, the incision is made at the level of the ears and continued around the hairline. The endoscopic method is newer and is performed with a several smaller incisions in the scalp. The advantage of the endoscopic method is that smaller incisions result in lower scarring and the recovery time is shorter. With a help of a small camera, the surgeon performs the necessary changes, and the cuts are made along the hairline to avoid visible scars.

It must be mentioned that eyebrow lift surgery was very popular in the past decades among younger patients: lifted eyebrow facial expression was very fashionable. Nowadays, the need of this kind of surgery has decreased, as the idea of face aesthetics has changed. That’s why drastic eyebrow lift surgeries, when the result is an “amazed” facial expression, have been almost rejected. Today softer and more moderate eyebrow correction methods are more popular – such as using special threads, fillers, and fat transfer. The form and localization of eyebrows is decided by using a 3-D model.

Surgery. Surgery is made on local anesthesia most of the times. Patients are allowed to go home on the same day , although it is advised to have someone nearby for the first nights. Stitches are removed one week after the surgery. Most patients can return to work in 10 days’ period. Patients must avoid heavy lifting and exercise for first few weeks after the surgery.
